In the middle of Kreuzberg, the former stables of the Prussian 1st Guards Dragoon Regiment Queen Victoria of Great Britain and Ireland from 1854, GRETCHEN presents itself in a historic charm combined with a cool club design. The beautiful vaulted ceiling, the delicate columns are now sounded with beats and bass, swirled with light installations and released to a musically interested audience.

GRETCHEN’s program as a (live) club reflects the complexity of current musical trends. From electro, electronica, house, dubstep, over IDM, glitch, experimental, avant-garde to bass, independent, folk and jazz GRETCHEN presents itself as absolute open for any style. GRETCHEN is electronically to unplugged, presents DJ sets and live concerts. Quality of musical genres and artists are most important - not limited imagination, bigotry or boredom.

Gretchen represents Berlin, gives a platform to national and international artists, their labels, but also to newcomers.

    Terrible soundsystem. Makes me not want to bother despite the great lineups. In fact, I don't want to go there any more, I'm fed up with how bad it sounds.

    not only that I dislike the soundsystem as well... the whole club is way below what I had hoped for. one big hall without any charms. the bar and the restrooms situated very - let's say - unfortunate. please rethink your decision to move to that place! the line-up is great, but I come just to one third of the events I would go to when gretchen was a better club.
