Built in 1928 and restored to reopen in 1984 the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall is a historic centerpiece of Portland’s Downtown cultural district. Originally known as Portland Public Theater it has seating for 2,776, an orchestra pit for 15 and a choir loft. Dressing rooms for 90, a portable, flexible acoustical shell and entrance access on both the Broadway and Park Blocks. Italian Rococo Revival architecture is said to be the national showcase of renowned Chicago theater architects, Rapp & Rapp. A 65 foot high “Portland” sign greets its patrons and visitors above the Broadway Marquee, which contains about 6,000 theatrical lights.

The Arlene Schnitzer Hall is home to the Oregon Symphony, White Bird Dance Company, Portland Arts & Lectures, and many more local performing arts groups.
