Berghain is a Berlin nightclub, named for its location on the border between Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. Philip Sherburne has described it as “quite possibly the current world capital of techno, much as E-Werk or Tresor were in their respective heydays.”
Known for its restrictive door policy (just because you wait 2 hours in the queue that doesn’t mean shit to the infamous gatekeeper Sven Marquardt and his companions) and its intense atmosphere of privacy (no filming, photographing, recording of audio/video allowed inside) it’s the ultimate hedonistic paradise for techno and house connaisseurs.

selective door policy keeps it interesting for berlin folks and club veterans. in spite of its popularity still less than 50 percent rave tourists the german province, fashion chicas from barcelona or college bros from holland. decent mix of people - unlike in clubs like watergate. keep up the good work! :)

I love this place: it helps me lose my mind in a nice but urgent way. Pity I don't live near. For those who keep getting refused at the door this may help: dresscode is underground, (leather, fetish, techno but stylish) Don't wear trainers! And don't be drunk or stoned. But most of all: put on a happy partyface :-) I hope you have fun

Ja, Ja das berghain, für mich der schönste und grösste laden in berlin. Leider komme ich auch nur bei jeden zweitenmal rein, aber doch deswegen keine negativen gedanken ! Freundlich lächelnd drehe ich dann ab, um z.b. ins GATE zu gehen. Scheiße nur für menschen deren flieger in fünf stunden wieder richtung downunder "geht"...sorry für euch.... .Aber beim nächstenmal hoffe ich das es klappt , weil vielleicht meine tanzwütige tochter mitkommt. Bis dann liebes BERGHAIN.......

Hahah! That bouncer-thing was fucking hilarious. Don't know how the fuck I got in. I looked like a fucking bum, fucked out of my head on drugs, couldn't stand still and with dirty old fucked up clothes.. Later on I even saw one of those backpacking-assholes in there. WEARING his fucking backpack while dancing! Their soundsystem was fucking crazy, never heard anything like it, but the people in there sucked. Despite the sound, this place really was a let-down.. Had expected more craziness..

Berghain? Never ever again, I boycott these suckers. Waiting a couple hours for not passing those arrogant dickheads on the door without any reason is quite cruel and just wasted time. Had this several times. Thank you, I couldn't see SCSI-9. Whoever is in the line up there, I'm pretty sure to see them in another locations. Just cannot recommend this location in spite of their technical equipment.:-P
