Bimbo’s 365 Club was started by Agostino “Bimbo” Giuntoli in 1931. The club was crowded with celebrities and stars from across America who were there to see and be seen. On stage, lines of long-stemmed chorus girls danced to the live bands; one of whom was Rita Cansino. Later, we would all know her as Rita Hayworth. Gin was served in coffee cups while everybody puzzled over the optical illusion provided by Dolfina, The Girl in the Fishbowl: She appeared to swim nude in the fish tank behind the bar. … you can still find her there at certain shows. Today, Bimbo’s 365 Club features live bands of all different genres. The club brings you the latest top performers while retaining the glamour of yesteryear. Bimbo’s 365 Club also hosts private parties, special events & weddings.

Saw my first show here tonight. I wasn't expecting much from a venue called Bimbo's but wow this place is classy. 1920s lounge-style atmosphere complete with candle-lit tables, freshly cut flowers and a bathroom attendant. Even the sound was great. This place is definitely nicer than any other venue I've been to in SF, or anywhere for that matter.
