A nice ex-industrial space, with a big-ish hall which fits about 1500 people. Also includes a smaller bar / DJ area (but with a three-storey ceiling) which is great for chilling out before the gig. Being a student town firmly on the West of the Röstigraben, everyone is very laid back and friendly. The staff all speak French and German, and one could probably get away with English with most of them.

fri-son hosts a good deal of the Indie groups which pass through Switzerland. It’s frustratingly far from Zürich (with no transport back late at night), but Fribourg is a nice place to stay and packs a mean fondue.

The catering staff at fri-son are apparently second-to-none; the bands all get a good feed before hitting the stage, resulting in happy (but perhaps a bit over-sated) tunes.

Fri-Son is the only more or less undeground place to go out in fribourg. But they got very strict secutity now, sometimes its a little annoying. But its still the best location to go out in the small city of fribourg. I had a lot of good moments there! (Most of the time they close between 3-4h in the morning :( )
