Well, I couldn't put unverifiable facts in a story (at least not me!) so all i was left with was her oddly put statements about world leaders just seeing who could build the biggest missiles for their own Freudian reasons. I dropped the tape off on the exec. editors desk, he watched it...and called me in and said "we can't t put this on the air!" ....so i guess my point is neither side does themselves any favors by coming off as being stark raving mad!

Ah yes! Well...we were talking a bit of politics and summed up by saying you find Americans kooky and brilliant...which is a fair statement...but you being Aussie, it reminded me of an episode back when I was a cub reporter for the CBC in Canada and I was assigned to interview Helen Caldicott. Now, I was a bit starstruck, being young, somewhat naive and sympathetic to lefty to views on some matters. Hell, I even voted for Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale once, as I recall. Well she had a book she was promoting "Missile Envy" which of course is symbolic of well...you know. I went in with the utmost respect and admiration for her. During the pre-interview I must have mentioned I was American and at the time she was banned from the U.S. for her views. She started lecturing me like a mad woman. The she went into an explanation of her thesis on the arms race, laced with unverifiable facts and sexual imagery.

God Bless You and your family, Jude. I hope your husband gets well soon. The love and health of our families is a great asset. I certainly hope that you and yours are improving at every level. On our Thanksgiving in America, I am thankful for the health of my family. My ten year-old daughter was just released from physical therapy Monday from breaking her ankle in July in a pool accident. She has almost completely recovered from her surgery. She had 2 pins placed in her right ankle in August. You are a great person, Judy. Your family is fortunate to have you.

Nice to see that your a friend of Autumns, she's pretty cool... glad you liked the artists.. I'm not a guy who thinks everything in his own country is the best but I do think our music is among the best in the world.. I worked a good portion of my life on radio, so I have gotten to meet many artists and interview them and as a result I guess I am somewhat of a booster of the "Canadian sound"... take care... Jay
