    Tuesday morning
I nearly snorted my coffee when you called this "dance oriented". Maybe for some folks with phenomenal mind/body synchroniztion, but certainly not for the way I [used to] dance. ☺ I did find an opportunity for a complete listen, with nearly full attention (I was alone, but making dinner). I think the choice of the the "Moritz von Oswald Trio" moniker is inspired. On tracks 1 and 3 I could really see them as a trio in a small beatnik club - all 3 wearing shades, one with a beret, and all intensely grooving to their tunes. I mean this in a positive way BTW. I really found some resonance with these two tracks. Not sure why - but I was reminded of the liner notes to Morton Subotnik's "Sidewinder" from the '70's - these tracks make extremely good use of their time. On this go-round - I didn't find as much to like in tracks 2 and 4. Perhaps later....

Yes it's pretty good imho-I can't say there's a track as good as Blood On My Hands but it's certainly worth picking up.

I've only managed one time through MvOT's Vertical Ascent so far and even then it didn't have my full attention. I think my reaction is, similar to your confrères on disquiet, that the 4 pieces are somewhat emotionless. But I am not nearly as experienced a listener to this type of music as others, and it may well be that repeated listenings will be rewarded.

Ok plain & simple I was wrong on 2562-not sure what my mindset was that week etc.

nice review of 2562 album but you used 'run for his money' twice! Are you interested in the Plex 3rd bday on Friday 30th it looks like a night of awesomeness. Scion, Norman Nodge and a disgustingly bassalicious line up of other techno monsters - pretty rough stuff! Also I have a favour to ask -could you recommend a good pair of in-ear earphones for my ipod. or a good website to look at. My Shure E2Cs (?) have packed in with the lead next to the jack finally giving in. I am willing to spend a little bit of hard earned moolah on them assuming they'll last a couple of years of daily listening and am ready for a sound quality upgrade. Many thank yous in advance and if you fancy Friday let me know - be good to catch up. Ben

Hi Colin, yes i've had most of the 2009 remasters for about a fortnight, but i'd been delayed getting to them until a few days ago, as i had a deadline for a new composition. i've now listened carefully to all of them except for "Tour de France" as i don't have that one yet, which is kind of irritating, as i've extensively re-written my article & it's currently in limbo until i get round to that one! On balance, i'm not impressed with the 2009 versions, & i'll probably be sticking with the 2004s as my preferred choice.

Yes I agree, I suspect it's a good album but not to my taste. One benefit of experience is I no longer think an album is bad because just I don't like it-it's taken 42 years mind you :)

It's strange I can't seem to get into the new 2562 at all-I've stopped listening twice halfway through-it's seems a little one paced? It's like he's removed all of the bits I liked about the first album (namely the dub/dubstep bits) Dunno I feel a little disappointed.
