(I made the list because it's quite tricky to find the Ligeti Edition discs on spotify, the Ligeti Project discs are easier)

Here's the Ligeti list I made, but I'm sure you can do much better: http://open.spotify.com/user/113192036/playlist/3yT7hEhDb2FiHDRyUwIGM0

P.S.: Also hoping for a chronological Ligeti list. :D I made a semi-complete one based on the Ligeti Edition/Ligeti Project discs, but it's not chronological.

Our lists are fairly similar, with his Bobness at the top, and Pet Shop Boys, Joni Mitchell and all the classical stuff. I almost feel like I have a soulmate in Beijing :D

imho "Content" will always hv a higher priority over "Quality" esp when the quality difference is only noticeable to a minority (true that this may not be a factor in the way u r framing ur argument but this can't be ignored in marketing the spotify product). For me, im enjoying my foobar 'coz it is streaming flac to my audiophile hi-fi system - actually better than SqueezeCenter/Squeezebox combo :)

Really like your Spotify playlists, especially the Alex Ross, Rest is Noise one. That book (and the follow up) has really got me into that sort of music that I hadn't explored before. Just discovered you've got a Last.fm profile too.

thanks 4 the head-up. i don't use Spotify often (not because I don't like it but I can't pay them to be a premium user. there are way 2 many ad for a free user and I hate it for that.) if u hv a UK proxy, give we7 a try. It's quite good! (u can access the site anywhere but you may find many songs/albums locked and inaccessible if outside UK). Cheers!

About Me

Maybe everything that can be done HAS been done.

Maybe we are at a crossroads where art has exhausted itself as an imitation of life.

Maybe it is time, therefore, to allow life to become an imitation of art.

The art is in the living within our personal relationships: to reach out and touch another human soul as the great masters have touched us all.
