Musicians come together in hopes that the music that they create will be more powerful than what they could assemble individually. This is certainly the case with three-piece powerhouse Theaterfire. Guitarist Matt Hogan utilizes his unique style and influences to create a sound that is bold and dramatically different. Drummer David Allen supports the cutting guitars with percussion that is both explosive and frenetic. Soaring vocals provided by vocalist Miranda Day give this outfit from Texas their unique, driving, defining sound.

The band’s name is a source of interest for many fans. It is a reference to the Iroquois Theater fire of 1903, which claimed the lives of over six hundred patrons. The band’s name also holds a special significance for drummer David Allen, a former film projectionist. “Vintage movie projectors used nitrate film, which was extremely flammable. If a projectionist was in the booth and a projector caught fire, the fire safety door would automatically close…saving the rest of the building but trapping the projectionist in the flames.”

The group is currently writing new material and looking for a second guitarist and bass player to complete their lineup.
