Nice to meet you! I was definately interested by the way they incorporated african music, one of the few genres I'm completely ignorant of into their own. I really like that their music doesn't sound for lack of a better term as whitebread as other indie bands. I heard them last year year on someone's myspace profile and went to see them in Nov, before they really broke out, so great.

It certainly qualifies as bizarre, but I think blogs, myspace, word of mouth and every media outlet's desire to seem hip and find the next big thing all played a part. Plus the fact that their music is undeniably infectious and they don't really sound like anyone else out right now helped.
