Yeah, I can at least agree with Beirut...The National have border-lined boredomsville live for me though. Are you seeing the Friday show w/ Built to Spill (Doug Martsch = the coolest guy I've ever met!), Jesus Lizard, & Yo La Tengo? That's the only day I'd consider. Everywhere year I ever go, it's too hot and the crowd gets more obnoxious each year.

That Dirty Projectors show is going to be amazing. I think that one show alone beats p4k, which I'm more than happy to miss for this first time this year.

haha yeah, i remember that. now that all the hype and controversy has died down i can see that his music was actually pretty good. "Stan" is probably one of the greatest songs ever recorded.

It's a completely different experience seeing him at home in New York. I've caught him out of the city/out of the state a couple times and it's never the same as him playing in Manhattan or Brooklyn. New York fans are always known for being less receptive and harder to please, but the few times a year I see him, it makes me really proud as a music lover to be from here. His mom and family come out to a lot of the home shows, and he tells these adorable stories and anecdotes from his past in between songs while interacting with them.

There are still a few songs I haven't gotten into, but that one is exceptional. Can't wait to hear him play this stuff. He's doing another headlining show here in June - go plan a trip to New York!
