The playlist was fantastic! I mean it, it was so good. I had listened to Scuba and Mount Kimbie before but not those songs. I'll be checking out these other artists as well. Beat Connection was awesome. I'll start working on a part 2 for you as well. What are you in the mood to hear?

To make up for my incredible laziness, I'll make the playlist SUPER good and diverse. Yeah, and Talking Head's Remain in Light is way ahead of its time, or so I hear. I guess Eno did some really different stuff when recording them, like with loops and tapes, that no one else was doing at the time. No Jacket Required, it's funny you should mention that, I just found that a while on cassette tape. It was my dad's but my car's tape adapter broke, so i can only listen to cassettes, but I've got Phil Collins so it's all good. I've been doing great, I've recently started getting into some jazz and I'm loving it.

Greetings! About that playlist I promised: my computer is ancient and is giving me an awful time, I really wasn't satisfied with the songs on there anyways. You mentioned you do use Spotify, though, right? I was wondering if you wouldn't mind I just create a playlist on Spotify that you can listen to and hear some of the stuff. There's so so much more I've been loving but don't have on my iTunes yet. It'd be way easier for me to share some great stuff with you. Also, I'm loving the Talking Heads plays. I have recently fallen in love with them myself. I can't get enough.

since that comment I found out that apparently they have just this one-off reunion show and that's it. unfortunately.

I get what you mean and I actually thought about that recently, but I think Mazzy Star is better described as encompassing both shoegaze and dream pop, whereas Beach House is dream pop with more of the popular "indie" scene influence. Both groups are dreamy and atmospheric while still retaining somewhat of an easy-listening feel, thus making them dream pop. Or whatever. Never listened to Dream Academy.

Really, why? I haven't been as able to get into their older albums. Their latest is lovely, especially "Other People" and the last track, "Irene." I'm already addicted to it, which is cool because I love conditioning music to certain time periods for nostalgia's sake. Thus Bloom will hopefully always remind me driving around with the windows down during the spring of 2012. :)

About Me

Matt.
Aspiring film student.

Likes lots of weird stuff.

But truth be told:
All I want is a nice girl who is sincere and witty and fun-loving and level-headed and willing to snuggle and talk about Firefly and eat unhealthy amounts of junk food and listen to drone music at full volume for hours on end. Is that too much to ask?
