I was born too late. To have grown up in the heyday of bands like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin would have been like a dream. Instead, my musical interests are being molded in somewhat reverse fashion. I take the hard rock/metal bands I've always loved (Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Metallica) and have approached their inspirations. My interest in a lot of music from earlier than the mid to late 80s began when I decided that Black Sabbath was probably worth a listen beyond only hearing tracks like Paranoid and Iron Man on the radio. The first time I heard Master of Reality, I was excited like a child with a new toy, and it has lead me to seek out more music from that period, as well as more of the bands they inspired that I was never aware of.
