Hey Reza, thanks a lot for the words man, I appreciate it. Hope you find something in there that takes your fancy. Thanks also for the suggestion, I'm listening to some Ceremony vids on youtube right now and they sound very promising. I'll grab Rocket Fire at some point in the near future. Have a Merry Christmas!

Mother Mother is fun pop from Vancouver - if I had to compare them to anyone, it would probably be the New Pornographers, but their sound is a bit different. They only have 2 albums thus far, so I'd definitely recommend "O My Heart", which came out a couple years ago. I'd say the key tracks on it are "Hayloft", "O My Heart", and "Body of Years".

Well, it does look like we have some pretty similar tastes - although I actually haven't even heard of your number one artist, Engineers. What are they like, and what would be a good starting place with them? And, if you don't mind me asking, what's your metacritic user name?

Yeah you're right, they may be early-shoegaze revivalists, but they do it with such respect and legitimacy that they could have easily been plucked straight out of that era. I really need to listen to more by them than just Hover, I keep forgetting they have other albums out there.

Thanks for the kind words. The Metacritic forum is a handy place for decent recommendations, as long as you listen to the right folk. I found out about Hospice by The Antlers months before pitchfork got their grubby little mitts on it because of mc, so that was pretty cool. I do love The Fatales, it's a shame they still remain criminally ignored, their tunes really do thrive on the sheer amount of atmosphere they deliver. And TBR, Doves, shoegaze; practically the holy trinity dude!
