"The music you have in common is Grace Jones, Abe Duque, Hercules and Love Affair, LCD Soundsystem and Talking Heads." Ha.

Oh and PS check out Tomboy's Serios album - amazing, and I think you'd really like it.

Dang! I swapped my Friday Kylie tickets for the pair I'd bought for a friend and am now going on Monday! :( You'll have to let me know what you think of the gig, though...

Well hello you! How about a Eurovision get together on Saturday - Sweden is favourite apparently in this super cheesy contest!

Thanks for the Neon Neon recommendation Paul - I've got the album but haven't _really_ given it a good going over just yet. I like the concept album idea behind it though! The new Last.fm crashes my iTunes so I'm temporarily not scrobbling :(

About Me

originally from nyc, where i used to play out on the scene from 1980-84 (mudd club, 8 bc, fashion moda, pyramid club, danceteria). then djs took over, live music slowly died and i decided it would be a good idea to get a job. i still really love noise with a beat, especially industrial - laibach, cabaret voltaire, throbbing gristle, pere ubu - and contemporary analogues in the nu rave and electro scene. am also a big eno, klf and orb fan -- as well as psy-trance. oh, that and cheesy 60s lounge, preferably by katerina valente if posssible. that doesn't cover all of it, but gives you an idea.

it's odd how things come full-circle. so much of what i'm listening to now sounds like updated and often more interesting versions of stuff i loved years ago, this seems to be the first time that dance music's been worth taking seriously in years for me. so, along with a partner who knows way more about running these things than i do, i'm getting back into the music scene in an active way for the first time in years. i've missed it, and it feels great
:-)
