re: "kein Schwein auf dem Tisch" - nobody is around. is this case someones sitting at a table and there is no one sitting with him. sometimes in gambling you could use this phrase if you are without any luck - "kein schwein haben" - so if s.o. plays e.g. roulette and loses all his wagers - he may phrase directed to "the table" / friend - "kein schwein am tisch". hope this helps - rgds RM

Tinariwen - Amassakoul 'N' Ténéré is ok, but not so much for me, I'm afraid. R.D. Burman - Ek Ladki Ko Dekha is much more my speed. I could have that playing as good background music. Thanks for the rec's :)

Hi, you wanted to know the meaning of "kein Schwein auf dem Tisch" from Element of Crime. Means literally "no pork to eat". "Kein Schwein" could also mean "nobody" or "no luck"
