oh and by facebook I don't mean just use facebook in general, I mean listen to music that people post if it looks worth pursuing. I don't really know what kind of people you are friends with on facebook, but me and some of my facebook friends post music on facebook many times daily.

(in no particular order): -read about music alot -look at related videos on youtube -talk to your friends -talk to your parents -buy records from record stores (especially weird ones that look cool) -go to shows -listen to good radio stations (wfmu is always good, but local stuff always rules if you can find a decent enough one) -use wikipedia to find related bands (i.e. finding spectrum and spiritualized through spacemen 3, finding primal scream through jesus and mary chain, finding om through sleep, etc) -watch music documentaries -facebook
