Oh, and regarding your interpretation of the name...nice. We were tossing around one-word names, The Larks and The Sylvanias were two of them. When we put them together it just sounded perfect to us.

The Freaks isn't a recording band at all. It's more of a tradition around here. By happenstance, I introduced myself to the band, which had existed in many incarnations for years, played with them one night, and it stuck. We mostly just get together for fun and play covers (yep, Phish...and the Dead, Beatles, Dylan, Floyd, Van Morrison, Camper Van Beethoven, the Stones, the Who, classic rock with the intent to select slightly obscure songs), and play a gig a few times a year...traditionally Halloween and sometimes Mardi Gras.

Too bad for Sylvania Lark and its "old style futuristic good to dream" name (was this clear !?) The link to Freaks of Nature is ok, so I'm just playing the free tracks. First sounds reminds me a band called Phish... Thanks for the add.

What comes next? Probably not anything more from Sylvania Lark, unless we catch up with technology. We all live in different cities now, about three hours away from each other in every direction. There might be some solo stuff some day, maybe something recorded with my daughters some day...but for now I play with the Freaks of Nature in SW Wisconsin. I'd post a myspace link here, but I don't know how to do it. Crudely, maybe this will work for you: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=143643434

Well, I don't think I'm what one could call a trendsetter. But, for sure, I'll recommended to my friends. Personally, I adore Is it Real? and the Juncos. And also your interpretation of California dreamin', which I like far better than the mama's release. And also Booze Jar, California... Plenty of influences in your music, but so well "digested" that it's a bit hard for me to pick one on top. It's quiet, peaceful, zero aggression, but one can fill a volcano somewhere inside. Long introspection work, or I'm wrong ? Anyway, lot of pleasure for the listener. Thanks again. Looking forward what's coming next.

Thank you, crabby7. It's nice to have a fan. And as much as I am proud to be obscure, hopefully you're a trendsetter! If not, I'll remain happily in the shadows.
