Hmm I'd say the production on the new album is indeed a bit "raw" compared to the s/t, but I wouldn't describe it as shitty. The drums do sound kind of flat and the guitars don't seem quite as heavy in the mix. I guess that's how Old Greg wanted it produced haha

For sure I am not too big on the newest stuff either...Last time I saw them was like year ago at the great american and it was still pretty awesome even with the new stuff but I don't really listen to it otherwise. Yeah there's some good sludgey stuff playing at that show friday, a couple of the bands were on that Eyehategod show too. Day two of that festival is more of the faster heavy shit pretty much I think, not sure if I will make it to that one but its always fun to see Population Reduction haha.

I know what you mean. Between actually interacting with other humans, being on-campus and generally taking care of the house there's seemingly fuck-all time to do with what we wish. Hard to keep them scrobbles up when we're too busy pimping. I hope we all make more time for MC before we witness our respective live processions.

Like an hour and a half drive but its worth it for some shows. I just trek it up for the special ones. I remember seeing Kylesa the first time when they wern't so big I was living back in Michigan and it was pretty damn awesome. Its kinda almost discouraging when they get all popular like that but I still dig them.

Well I'm down in Santa Cruz, Kylesa are playing with a few of the "local" bands next tuesday and the venues is like a couple blocks from where i live. My friends band Razorhoof gets to open they are lucky bastards.
