haha sure thing! it's pretty easy, so you'll probably catch on quickly. i have to say that i like doing both creating it in programs and in real life, but playing in real life definitely takes more skill. i hateeee it when i'm trying to record something on my guitar and then i mess up after playing for 3 minutes, because if i can't fix it with an edit, then i have to do the entire thing over. which sucks. a lot. ha. playing in real life is easier if you want to perform for people too. you can do electronic stuff live, you just have to have the equipment to do it. and i do not have that said equipment, ha. but i don't really think i like either one more than the other significantly. i enjoy doing both. =] do you play anything?

thanks! i'm glad you like them. =] the cover of such great heights was actually my final project for my electronic music class, haha. i did all of it in this really awesome program called logic, but a couple of synths are from a program called reason. it took a lonnggggg time, hah. but it was a lot of fun!

I do record my cover songs, actually. The first few recordings I did with GarageBand and using the microphone my laptop, so they weren't very good. Since then though, I've been able to use the microphones and the recording software at school. I have a music myspace where I upload them (which you can find here: http://myspace.com/kristenalbert). don't judge my singing too harshly =] I'm definitely not a vocal major, ha. I want to get some original stuff up there, but, like I said, my songwriting skills aren't quite where I would like them to be.

i agree. the piece i've been working on is a duet for piano and cello. i really love the cello. i've been trying to write some guitar stuff lately too. i like to record cover songs, but i'm not very good at just songwriting (like guitar and voice stuff). i expect my lyrics to be meaningful and packed full of symbolism and metaphors and they never come out the way i want them to so i dont like them. i'm getting better though. i actually took a class on electronic music this semester! we didn't work with turntables, but we worked a lot with synthesizers. it was so fun. i would love to learn how to work with a turntable though. unfortunately, i will not be attending the all get out show like i had originally planned. i found out today that my new roommate and i are going to visit my old roommate in georgia for a couple of days, and we're leaving tomorrow before the show. i'm kind of bummed, but i know AGO will be back. plus i'm friends with mel, so i see him a good bit when he's in town.
