I am me, which is something of a musician, nerd, withdrawn megalomaniac, writer monkey, games programmer and movie critic with a tad too much time on his hands. Since I'm into a lot of different genres I still haven't really found anywhere to set up camp yet, so it might be a couple of years until I come up with something worth while. I'll let you know.

I also play guitar in a metal band, but we don't know what the hell we're doing. Kinda. Yet.

Regarding my music library- please don't assume that because I have a certain artist in my charts somewhere, or in my recently played section, that I actively enjoy them. I listen to a whole lot of music just to try them out or see what all the buzz is about... 1/4 of the time I probably don't care for what I'm listening to, but I stick adamantly to the "whole album, beginning to end" rule when judging bands and their releases. So yeah, take my charts with plays below 40 with a pinch of skepticism.

Also, my 'taste' is certified 97% objectively awesome... by myself. If you disagree, you're simply wrong, because I am always correct. I cannot be held responsible for such malfunctions within your programming however, so don't come whining to me.

I think it's worth mentioning that over the course of my four+ years here at Last.fm, I have never listened to something extensively to "boost" my charts (or, even worse, left music on without being there to hear it). What you see here is 100% honest listening of music from 2005, which includes all the many hundreds of albums I've listened to once all the way through then promptly deleted for whatever reason. For that reason, there will be artists high up in the tables that I very rarely ever listen to anymore, and new finds that I adore but haven't had the time to really indulge in yet down below... yet I'm not going to go purposely trying to get them on or off or resetting my charts. Discovering music is a journey, and I like to look back at the path I've taken and know that it's an honest one.

Currently I get all my music recommendations from 5 reputable sources whom I (for the most part) trust: Pitchfork, Metal Reviews, MetalSucks, Prog Archives & RYM.

I haven't seen my compatibility meter reach the top in years. This simultaneously amuses and scares me.
