the new mmj is good i think, different, but good. there are a couple of tracks that are a little out there. ok, a lot out there, but as a whole I like it. Stars and New Porno's were awesome, Iron & Wine was good, but he played all of the songs as a 6 or 7 piece, which lost some of the specialness of just Sam and his guitar.

New Band Alert: I ran across a band called Old Canes last night that are rocking my world sideways. It sort of reminds me of an alt-country version of The Eels. I think you'd dig it. I especially like Blue Eleanor and Life Is Grand so far. There are some clips on the site, but I'll email the full songs along if you would like.
