The original MetalAd project is currently on hold and is not available until further notice. Thus it isn't possible to request any logos at the moment.
There are several copies/forks of the project now which are maintained by other people:

How To Request Logos
You may request logos in this journal. Please check out the list of added logos at http://denzer.ch/heavyraptor/logos.txt before you request any logos.
Of course only logos of Metal bands are allowed and don't forget that the following genres are not allowed (those aren't Metal actually, but people are too stupid to understand that - posers):
Any *core ("Metal"core, Deathcore, Hardcore etc), Nu-"Metal", White "Metal" (aka Christian "Metal").
It might be controversial that christian metal isn't Metal, but anyway, if you want me to add a logo of a band which is in the list of christian metal bands, then I won't add it.
Please request logos in the following format:
Hi, could you please add these logos?
Band 1 Logo
Band 2 Logo
... etc ...

The links on the bands' name should be the link to the bands' last.fm profile (f.e. [artist]Band[/artist]).

I sent all the new logos to porst17 and he uploaded them on the actual MetalAd server. Looks like it's going to take some time until you'll see the new logos on your MetalAd. Unfortunately, we made a mistake and uploaded the logos as black on a white background, the old being white on a black background. So you might notice wrong colors on your MetalAd, but don't worry because the problem has been solved already - you just need to wait till your MetalAd gets updated ;)

The testing phase of MetalAd 2 will be launched soon. There'll be some major changes of the MetalAd system, f.e. several servers will host MetalAd in future (to reduce the traffic for each server), not only one as before. There'll be no need to change the MetalAd URLs, since the system itself will handle the redirecting to the appropriate server.
There won't be a drop-out of MetalAd during the test phase (if everything works fine), so keep it cool.

... alright. I somehow forgot about finishing MetalAd 2 ... I know, I should finish it now (or at least soon). But damn, there's always something new I want to do, so I'm kinda lost right now ... besides that I'm busy (as always). Anyway ... I hope to finish it someday near in the future and I still don't know about May 19th ... we will see. Bla.

I'm fukking lazy and slow, I know. I thought about releasing MetalAd v2 on May 19th 2008, as I still need some time (first MetalAd release was on May 19th 2007, so it's exactly one year later, which I thought would be fun to do).

I've been working a lot on MetalAd v2 in the last few weeks. I'm comming to an end, looks like I'm done with 90% of the whole project (80% of the project is the website :P). Now, I still have to do some accommodations on the website to make it compatible for all the browsers etc (mainly Firefox & IE).
Anyway, I hope to release MetalAd v2 in some weeks, maybe earlier.
Some features of MetalAd v2:
- choose any background color
- choose any logo color
- logo request form on the MetalAd's website
When MetalAd v2 is released you will all have to re-generate your MetalAd. But for now you just have to wait ;) ...

At the time there's no possibility to upload any logos, as I'm not hosting MetalAd right now and the responsible person has no time for the project (to upload logos etc).
At the moment I am working on a new version of the MetalAd project, including better statistics ... the result will be pretty the same, so don't expect too much. Uploading logos will be possible again in the new version, it'll include a request/update-logo manager.
Though, there's no exact date when I'm going to upload the new version of MetalAd.
I'm not getting payed anything for this project, so it'll take some time. Be patient ;).

... and again I'm having problems with the MetalAd hoster ... It looks like I won't upload MetalAd again or try to find any other solution, because I'm too tired with all that shit.
Million of logo request, thousand of problems ... I know you guys hate me now, but I've worked hours for this project and now again there are hosting problems.
Maybe I'll setup the script in a far future, but actually I have no idea if I'll do this someday.

MetalAd is having a new problem. I just recieved an email from my provider telling me to remove the MetalAd script from the server due to the heavy traffic load.
Now, the only thing I can do is move MetalAd to an other server.So: I'm looking for a free provider who does not care about the traffic on the user's websites. Does anyone have an idea where I could find such a service? (I just found a server to upload, going to upload MetalAd in the next days).
I'm going to put MetalAd offline now, a information message will be displayed instead of the band logos.
Sorry for this inconvenience, again - I hope I'll find a solution soon.

... as you may have noticed MetalAd is having some temporary problems. First, my script had problems with connecting to the users' listening database because last.fm sometimes has some problems with the online traffic. Now, my server is having problems with the traffic due to the constant callups of the MetalAd. I'm looking for an solution now (maybe moving to an other server ... but I hope that I can find a better way to get working MetalAd again).
Actually I didn't suppose that my script would be that popular one day and that's the reason why I didn't take the server traffic into consideration.
I'm sure that I'll find a solution in time, so do not remove the image-Tags in your "About You" section on your last.fm profile (Actually I don't care if you remove it :D, but as I said MetalAd will work soon again).

You may now choose between a black or white background of the MetalAd image.
Go to http://www.denzer.ch/heavyraptor/last.fm/ if you'd like to use a white background now by generating the corresponding bbCode.

- Hosting at knorf.de is provided by porst17 (knorf.de is using a modified code of MetalAd by porst17, but generating the same MetalAd picture).
- Hosting at h-bomb.ch was provided by mhutter. The hosting on this server had to be canceled due to a overload of the gd-library (h-bomb.ch will be used as the central server of MetalAd v2 in future).
- denzer.ch was the first MetalAd hoster, which unfortunately gave up soon because of the huge traffic and a overload of the gd-library (this server will be used as one of the hosters for MetalAd v2 in future)
