The most beautiful voices so far...

26 Jul 2007, 10:20

The list is daily growing, not at least with the help of
http://www.live365.com/stations/sirensofsong
and http://www.KGRL.fm
as also all the appreciated hints from the visitors of this page, helping me to broaden my musical horizon and to complete this listing.

Not (yet) included are (most) pop, r'n'b and opera singers I like.

in alphabetic order:

My all time favourites
My actual featured artists (*)
New additions 2008-11-08

As of the 2007-12-28 there are 200+ artists in the list. A lot of remarkable voices are still missing here and maybe you would put others on the list than me. It's required that I have at least one album of the artist that impresses so much that I add the name here.

Just a correction...Mazzy Star's chanteuse is Hope Sandoval, not Kendra Smith (Kendra was the singer for Opal, when she left Hope replaced her and Opal become Mazzy Star)

Sorry for this mishap, I've replaced the wrong name for the right voice.

I definitely agree with Missy Higgins. What about Emily Haines?

The album Knive Don't Have Your Back of Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton is not really my taste; the same for Broken Social Scene's You Forgot It In People, maybe I find them better at the 2nd or 3rd listening. At least it's the problem: should I list a beautiful voice even if I don't like her albums?

Oops! The recommendations come faster as I can have a closer look at the artists. [*]Charlotte Martin ... yes! her voice is amazing, although I like only a few songs of her. [*]Vienna Teng ... surely! [*]Sarah Fimm ... Nexus is on my playlist since some days, I think you're right. [*]Carina Round ... not yet shure, I haven't heard her album completely, otherwise she's recommenden by my favorite radio station KGRL.fm, so I'll add her now.

Great list: A few additions I'd make: -Aaliyah -Free Dominguez

For now 2 additions: Free Dominguez (thanks Chantene) and Stevie Ann (thanks Monique). Listening to a lot of new discoveries in the last weeks kept me from holding the list up to date and retarded my plans to complete the pop and r&b singers references. There's so much music and so little time :)
