    When Sophisticated Beggar was recorded back in 67 there was a lot of interest in Indian music and instruments. Also Davey Graham had earlier in the 60's (who Roy knew) influenced a lot of others by introducing Indian raggas as well as Balkan influences. All of which had an influence on Roy

    It's pronounced the exact same way! My mum and twin sister both have names beginning with 'm' but my parents were really dead set on Mhairi so they just tweaked the spelling a little. I'm still undecided on how much I like it as a name though haha. No one can ever say it correctly.
