Saw your post under Grateful Dead and thought I post my opinion :). For studio albums, American Beauty and Workingman's Dead (prefer this one) are definitely their best. Aoxomoxoa is very good too. Live/Dead is a great live CD and Europe 72. Dick's Picks are usually strong too

Hehe, yeah it's quite low on my page. I have the same poster in my room, how I love this movie! I How are you doing? Still busy making your first solo record? :P I guess you heard about John leaving RHCP, predictable but still a shock...what do you think about that? ;)

Haha well I'm deciding on what type of guitar to buy, and others peoples opinions help. What did you start out on? Hopefully it's on the low price side, I hate that I'm hindered by money but I can deal.

Hey there, I've gotta say your taste in music is inspiring me to go check out a few cds I've never listened to before, like Kyuss, Temple is the Dog, The Germs, all that good stuff. I've admired your choice of music ever since I was obsessed with rhcp a while back. So, all I really wanna say is, thanks for being awesome!

About Me

Um yeah, I'm Victoria... far into my seventeenth year, fighting hard to avoid that epidemic that is epitomized by the Snuggie™ (how I abhor that invention)- you guessed it (didn't you?) Average American Complacency. I'm highly unconventional (I hope so) and uncoordinated (I know so)... Vibrant and vital, but deadpan to the point that half the time my own friends can't even tell when I'm joking (that said, I'm always looking for the next (but not always the last) laugh). Often classified (I fucking hate labels) as "weird" I'm a perfect mess of contradictions... and I wouldn't have it any other way. I live by my own code, but have only one real rule:
As for yourself do what you will, but stop and consider how others may feel... (Don't fuck with me, and I won't with you.)

"-isms" (sorry Ferris Bueller)
Communism (specifically Marxism and Trotskyism), Socialism, Keynesianism, Modernism, Post-Modernism, Dadaism, Existentialism, Absurdism, Rationalism, Anarchism, Agnosticism, Atheism, Taoism, Pacifism, Pessimism, Skepticism, ...you get the idea.

I'm hopelessly infatuated with somebody who doesn't give a shit. If you happen to find yourself in a similar situation, I strongly advise you to give Dinosaur Jr.'s You're Living All Over Me a listen. The lyrics really do sum up our plight pretty fucking well, and sonically, it's a ten.

TRAUMA SWEDEN is on an indefinite hiatus... solo project anyone?

The mind is the only place that anything can be truly said to exist. The outside world is only known to us as it appears within us by the testament of our senses. The imagination is the most real world that we know because we each know it first hand. Seeing our ideas take form is like being able to see the sun come into being. We have no equivelent to the purity of that in our account of the outside world. The outer world appears to each of us as one thing and it is always also a multitude of others. Inside to outside and outside to inside are neverending. Trying and giving up are a form of breathing.

- John Frusciante

I can insult you in no less than FIVE different languages. No, seriously. I have a book of foreign swear words and insults. It's pretty awesome.

I love politics but hate politicians. Democrats and Republicans basically the same thing, except for GOP members actually admit to being assholes, whereas their douchebag counterparts across the aisle like to pretend they actually give a shit about their constituents' plight. Karl Marx was an excellent writer (I've read The Communist Manifesto something like five times and am making Capital my pre-college project next summer) with excellent ideas, and the general lack of knowledge and/or reverence for Leon Trotsky that pervades current society is a travesty. Needless to say, I wear my homemade red hammer and sickle shirt with pride.

The only thing I know for sure is that I know nothing, and nothing is for sure...

"Censorship is Bullshit", but TROLLS might be worse

Migraines blow my mind... literally

I'm alternately the happiest and most depressed person I know, often simultaneously. I'm an anti-social butterfly, who talks a lot without saying anything at all. I believe money is the root of all evil, and yet I always want more of it. Hopelessly addicted to dihydrogen monoxide and music, I have a rather unhealthy fascination with drug addiction. As much as I despise myself, and long to be anybody else, my damned ego would never let me change. My downfalls are generally self-inflicted.

To all the people who have told me to Be more reasonable, Victoria or to Have more realistic plans for my life:
I'm most founded and grounded when I'm wandering, lost, with my head in the clouds, or perhaps just up my ass. My children are the words on the pages, the sounds I almost hear in my minds' ears. That's my contribution to the future generations. Let them figure it out. I'm finished.

Oh, and

Maturity Is Overrated

Kurt Cobain is my idol
John Frusciante is a close second
And of course, of course, of course, god himself, Bob Dylan
Oh and Eddie Vedder is pretty much the best singer of our times... although Mark Lanegan certainly gives him competition for that title... and I would've said Chris Cornell, but the collaboration w/ Timbaland (what the fuck is so hard about putting in an "er"???) is, well, disturbing.
And Don van Vliet is god of bizarre (and by bizarre I mean amazing) music... RESPECT TO THE MAN IN THE TROUT MASK!!!

Those are just the musicians, I tend to idolize various historical/cultural figures, if you really do give a shit (why?) ask me for the others.

Some words to (maybe) live by: Life's a bitch and then you die, so fuck this shit, let's go get high!

I really like:
-My genuine Fender® Stratocaster®
-Horses (I ride hunters/equitation (jumping) competitively)
-Music (look at me stating the obvious)-- but not top 40 shit or emo, etc.
-Playing guitar (a compulsion)
-Writing (see note after guitar)
-Making people uncomfortable (a particular talent of mine)
-Weird people/places/things
-Hats with earflaps
-My vintage leather jacket
-Old shoes
-Flannel shirts (I wear one nearly every day... no, that does not make me a lesbian)
-Mind-expanding/altering experiences...
-Unorthodox pieces... you can do a lot of things with innocent fruits and vegetables...
-When people actually take the time to fill out this section-- it's always interesting to read

I'm a complete sucker for:
-Brown eyes
-Brunettes (see a theme here?)
-Musicians
-Long hair
-Stoners (particularly intellectual ones)
-Fellow nerds (music/book/film)
-Flannel
-Band shirts
-Underwear sales at Victoria's Secret (though the nickname got really old after about the second day of kindergarten)

I dislike:
-A lot of my own personality traits
-Manufactured/mass-produced/commercialized music
-COLLEGE ESSAYS
-The "holiday season"
-Clingy people, sociopaths, exploitative individuals... the last person I dated for example.
-General stupidity and/or ignorance
-My utter lack of social skills
-The Bush Administration... and politicians in general
-The Religious Right (actually the whole institution of religion bothers me, but that's a long story)
-Narrow-mindedness
-Trolls (unintelligent ones, anyway): Seriously, go back to jerking off to pictures of your mom or whatever it is you do when you're not spamming and let the rest of us enjoy and share our music in peace
-Drum loops (yes, Big Black would represent a SIGNIFICANT exception to this rule)
-Purple (the color, not the STP album, which is fantastic)
-Pointless conversations (but I like to talk)
- _'s
-Non-theoretical math
-People who complain so much that they list out their dislikes (see the top of this list)

Add me if you want... even if our tastes vary significantly (how unfortunate for you... I'm joking I swear) I really don't give a shit what you like... Opinion is SO subjective, by definition...

If you have, or think you may have, or have ever thought of having an Oedipal complex, kindly leave me alone. I am not the girl who is going to help you get over your mommy issues. Ever.

Also, if you want to recommend something, please, PLEASE do! I'm always looking for something new... my philosophy is try everything once, and if I like it, go for it!

"Chatspeak" is an abomination of the English (or any other I guess) language, and fucking emoticons are just an insult to punctuation as a whole... seriously, what did colons and parentheses ever do to you??? (if you see me using these idiotic symbols, it's probably a joke)

If you actually read through all of this, you're pretty fucking awesome (or perhaps just pretty fucking bored?) Add me now hahaha

Take a look at what you are... It's pretty scary

-Turnaround (Nirvana... OK technically a Devo cover, but fuck correctness)
