Ah right mate. Perhaps I just don't get it lol. It's just like with "grunge" (which is a media coined term that I cannot abide anyway) , I love the punk aspects that are more rooted in 80's american underground music like say bands like the Dead Kennedys and Minor Threat. I don't really listen much to the likes of black flag and minor threat anymore, but they were fantastic bands, proper "hardcore" if you like. But it's just punk. it's just rock n roll, albeit a bit mental, but I genuinely think they're about as far as you can go before music stops bieng music and just becomes noise. With grunge there was a clear divide. I love the likes of Mudhoney, Soundgarden, a bit of Smashing Pumpkins and obviously Nirvana but the likes of Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains which were all thrown into the mix, I just can't get anything out of. I don't really care much for genre's, especially sub genre's. There's just so many that have been coined that they don't really mean anything anymore.

I just can't see it. It doesn't make something good or talented because it's hard to play, most metal bands seem not to realise that. I realise there is a big difference between them gay boys and the rest of the metal fraternity but I really cannot see anything vaguely musical about the likes of Metallica and Iron Maiden etc. I look at bands like Motley Crue and immediately think of Spinal Tap and laugh, it's almost a warm feeling towards it but I could never take it seriously. It's like the Darkness, I thought they were a hillarious band and I loved their first album but I just can't see how say someone could look at Lordi and think, wow yeah spot on. Bands like Kiss are just laughable poser bands, I just find it funny how they go on stage looking like that and then play things like God Gave Rock n Roll to You. Hmm I used to listen to a bit of Pantera years ago and I kind of cannot see how I could have ever listened to it. But they were a damned site better band than Metallica IMO.

And ok fair enough AC/DC are a proper rock n roll band. But they certainly never had the soul of say led Zeppelin. In many ways my main point reverts to modern bands and the state of rock music in general to be honest. Would you seriously suggest that faggots like Bring Me The Horizon etc, Death Metal and shite like that is closer to rock n roll than say Wolfmother or Stereophonics?

To me talent is usually in melody, I am yet to hear a metal band with any concept of melody or vibe at all. I love music and I can say I like a band/composer/artist from every genre that's ever existed bar Metal and any of the it's tiresome sub genre's. The bands you mentioned are the type of bands I can't even take seriously at all. Guns and Roses are a joke of a band, all the ingredients were there for them to be a great band, but it just went entirely the other way. Slash is nothing more than a bog standard blues guitarist. He pales miserably compared to the likes of Peter Green, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page to name only a few. Axl has a great voice but he just sounds like a total dick when he grosly lengthens every single note that leaves his mouth. Rock music is rock and roll. In the early 70's, numbhead artistic prog-bands like Genesis and Yes very nearly killed music with their awful overcomplex noise, Punk then preceeded to blow all that crap away.Metal is similarly overcomplex

How can you like Nirvana and then like all this laughably talentless metal emo shit. If you don't like the sex pistols you do not know what rock music is, if you like metal then you really havn't got a clue what rock music is. And mate, troll?, i'm not the one who listens to troll music.
