Nevermind we will need to practice... I composed something pretty rough but cool for the instrumental bit. It'll probably be 3-4 mins... really minimal orchestration. Everyone is doing one thing for the most part but it's gonna sound really syncopated because everyone is gonna be filling in different parts of the overall rhythm. If it comes together, I think it could be really cool to play, hear and perform... still no word from Nick on keyboards. We're doing Flume in the key of G. Uh... hey! Merry Christmas man! LOL!

Alright... so I have a new idea and it honestly probably wouldn't involve too much practice aside from playing through a few times the day of. I know you know the song and it wouldn't take much for Nick to learn it. The only real practice would be harmonies and I only wanted those for the second verse and chorus. Also, your harmony will be lower on Flume. I want to do just Flume with keys, percussion, and guitar. Instead of just going through the song, we're gonna take that noise section into Post-Rock territory ala Godspeed. So it'll start with noise but then taper off and build up into a melodic/ambient soundscape. And the way we end this is with Nick sustaining a note of his choice like a drone and then we just walk off one at a time. I figure for the screening we'll just do Flume and Beggars normal, since I signed it up as such, and the day of they won't expect it. LOL! Also, I wanted to do all this without mics. What do you think?

Oh crap! I thought you signed up already. Haha! I'll do it. I wanted a certain set up for this anyway. I asked Shep if he had one of those Cajons and he never got back to me. If you're comfortable with percussion than that works. You got that Cuban rhythm anyway! Still not totally certain of Nick but in the meantime we'll work on this together. I just wanted a third harmony for Flume and I wanted to work out harmonies for the end of Beggars along with that lead part. I still want percussion for both. I'm free this whole week, then I'll be in Brooklyn 24th-31st, and after New Years Eve I'm free until the screening on the 3rd and after that for last minute practice until the 6th. We have time...

We'll iron out more details when we meet to practice but I want you on lead guitar, Beggars included. Nick isn't comfortable doing percussion and I'm gonna assume Mike is not doing this with us, sadly. I'm thinking of just cutting out Degausser and keeping it to just the two. But I still would like someone to tap some rhythm out for these songs. I'm not really sure who else to hit up besides Matt, but I'm hesitant because I know he'll probably bitch about something.

Actually, thinking about it now the set could work as it is. If Nick ends up playing with us it's not like any of these songs he'd be against. The only thing he mentioned was maybe swapping in Forlorn Hope for Degausser. He may or may not play full band stuff with St. Sunday. Either way, ideally I'd like to see one on backup guitar and someone doing some percussive. If Mike was with us, I would've had him on keys and I would've turned Flume completely Post-Rock. Haha!
