also what I always suggest with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds is to get their best of and later era album No More Shall We Part, then fill in the gaps. If you really must get an album though, Tender Prey, The Good Son and Let Love In would be my suggestions for you.

This should just about cover the best of the British groups, out of the European bands you seem to have heard Tenhi but check out Rome - Flowers From Exile, and Darkwood's Notwendfeuer. Recommend me something in return ;)
