I haven't liked much of her older stuff - it's okay, but nothing grabbing. People have a lot of good things to say in general about Actor, it just hasn't clicked for me.

Among other games (thinking of getting Deus Ex for PC as my first Gaming PC purchase). Gonna cut my teeth on BF3 on xbox just so I can get the map/gun awareness, then probably buy BF3 for PC during the holidays. Mostly I'm going to be thrilled that I don't have to fuck around with graphics settings just to get some of my older-but-not-too-old games to run.

I bought all my computer parts for a new build as of yesterday - running a GTX 570 with an i5-2500k (i7 wasn't worth the extra 100 dollars). I'm excited, finally I'll have a computer worthy of gaming :)

Yeah, Austin is definitely your scene, glad you were finally able to make it there after toiling around H-Town for so long :)

There are a ton of bands who are making the MGMT sound recently. I'm completely fine with this.

Ended up buying the game, one of the best storytelling experiences I've ever had in a game (and I'm only about 2 hours in), and the music just makes it. It just...makes it. I'm a huge fan of Spike on a Rail. Like I read somewhere, that whole album is basically Firefly meets Cowboy Bebop meets awesome.

I've listened to only about a minute of the first few songs, and I'm already really impressed. This is definitely good stuff, thanks for the recommendation.

The new Antlers album is not nearly as emotionally affecting as Hospice, but has some cool atmospherics and variety to each track, and of course his falsetto is still as gorgeous as ever. When you get a chance, you should give it a spin - NPR has the full album streaming until its release.
