I don't think an EP is necessarily a bad place to start, with Jesu, especially is it's the Silver EP. That one is fantastic, and in my opinion, some of the best work of Justin Broadrick's long career. The new EP, Opiate Sun, is very good as well. Yes, I'm familiar with the album Aidan Baker did with Tim Hecker, and that is, interestingly enough, the album that convinced me that Aidan Baker is, like you said, a genius. I don't care much for Hecker - he bores me to death actually, but put him in a room with Aidan Baker and apparently he's a creative monster. And you're definitely right about baker being prolific - a look at his discography, including solo work, work with Nadja and colabs with other artists, can really overwhelm you. It would really suck if he wasn't any good, but since he's great, it works ;-)

Hey, I was listening to Nadja today and happened to see you journal about their album Touched. That instantly struck me because I've recently rediscovered that album as well. I've loved Nada for some time now, but just recently became very intimate with that album; it just sounds perfect in my head these days, playing along with whatever psychosis I have going on. It certainly is epic, in the very best sense of the word. I don't know if you're familiar with Jesu, but you might like their first album, titled Heart Ache. It's not exactly like Nadja (nothing really is), but if you appreciate epic-ness, that album is a great place to find it: 2 songs, about 40 minutes. Very grand and beautiful sounding, but still heavy. I also couldn't help but notice and appreciate your love for Have a Nice Life; they've recently become one of my favorite bands as well. Anyway, lemme know what you think, if you like. Cheers! :-)

Yeah, it's a damn shame. Most of the people I've introduced to MST3K haven't really gotten it either, which is kinda sad. Oh well. YOUR WEAPONS HAVE NO EFFECT ON ME!

I think we might be the only two people in the U.K. who have even heard of MST3K.

I started listening to Sunny Day Real Estate. They're playing on October 14th in Los ANgeles but I already have something planned for that week. ]: Seeing Say Anything in October. I hope I can meet Parker again. It's in a super small venue. :] How was your summer?

About Me

I shall now be scrobbling again, huzzah!

I like to fill my sidebar with junk!

I also like to tag stuff; 282 tags at the last count. Sometimes I use useful tags like and , and sometimes I use stupid tags like and (I'm not even sure why I did that).

I have no idea.

Here's one of those useless band image things of some of my favourite bands, but not all of them...

Milestones

And, because I love filling my sidebar with junk, I present you with a crazy colourful chart-thing of my tags (because it's all you've ever wanted).

Only, it's crappy and doesn't always show up. So if there is a blank space above, then...yeah.
