I actually didn't make a list for the SOMB this year. I just felt too unsure about the whole thing still. I'll probably post mine here in a week or two, along with the Best of the 00's stuff, which I might put up on Facebook, too. Stay tuned.

But I am doing it. I have 35 albums ranked together from 00-08, leaving room for a couple '09 picks and maybe a couple others to fill it out to 40. And I'm going to do a full 40 song mix, too, that I'll probably just upload and post in my journal. Yikes. My favorite song of the decade will be the last song on the mix, too. It's the perfect closer to a decade of music. Hmm, what could it be?

If you can, I'd like you to provide me a Best of '09 mix. I don't care how many it does or doesn't have. I always get a kick out of listening to it. Plus I'd like to know which fun and Brand New songs you would choose. Also, do you think you could even attempt a best of the decade list/mix? Honestly, the only way I've been able to go through the years is because of my RYM list. Without that, I'd be completely lost to the idea.

Hey, I'm dropping some journal entries that feature my top 10 albums of every year from 2000-now. Up to 2005 now. Take a look whenever to see where some old favorites rank these days. It's pretty difficult to gauge things that I still might listen to from time to time with things I really don't, but whatever. Hey, remember when Jimmy Eat World released albums that were near/at the tops of both our lists? Thems was the days, son. . .

Well, remember that I did actually really enjoy The Deep Blue and still think it's better than Grey Will Fade. That said, this one is good. It doesn't really sound like either album, but does have bits of both sprinkled throughout. "Alexander" is a tremendous song though. There are a few other highlights, and the rest just falls in place. They're still growing on me though, so I'm not quite sure where it'll rank with the rest of the year's stuff.

Hey, and you might like Howling Bells' new one. It's got a vague Metric feel to it to me. It's called Radio Wars. Just thought I'd throw it out there. I'm in love with the first song on it.

It was okay. It had a couple of good songs, but nothing really stood out after one listen. Oh, and newalbumreleases.net. I don't find everything there, but I found both Destry and Nolan there yesterday.

What the heck. John Nolan's solo album is out there, too? Hmm.

Destry released their debut album digitally on Friday? I had no idea until I was browsing through an unrelated site. Listening now...

My heart broke a little when I read that. I think I'll plan on seeing them on that farewell tour next year. Hopefully something good will come out of this, like a solid solo album from Aaron someday.
