melissarobot hmm, difficult to predict. i think i sort of secretly like to treat (almost) every scrobble as if it is # eighth-millionth.

nooneastern o man ... i have everything including the boxset if you ever get curious. Strangers is obviously my favorite too, but i actually like The Funeral Pudding better than Admonishing The Bishops .... i am really into the "Feller filler" stuff on that Funeral .... i love the free form jams between songs ... but this is splitting hairs ... they were at the peak of their powers during the mid 90s and EVERYTHING in that '94-'96 time period is mind blowing.

the trouble is in the wake up. the ability to hold onto dream details seems near impossible after hitting snooze on my ipod for 1+ hours.

i didn't seem to be in the band, but was somehow acquainted with them. the human league & i walked down many beige hallways before reaching a recording studio/rehearsal space/radio station/library type room. they wanted to know if i liked their "staging" for their new song; so, i guess there was a small amount of choreography involved, which of course wasn't supposed to seem mapped out. their lineup was dream invented, but philip oakey was philip oakey and sounded like it. didn't seem like it was supposed to be 1980 or anything, but their equipment and everything else seemed vintage. oakey still had some version of his oakey hair, even. no sailor uniforms, but most of them were wearing black corduroy pants & black long sleeve shirts that had triangles and strips of black pleather stitched on? maybe that was their rehearsal uniform? haha. wish i could remember the song. was trying to hold on to the melody of it while becoming coherent. must be easier for musicians to successfully do so.
