If you find yourself not much into the ambient-leaning tracks, may I suggest you make a playlist of all the pop songs. It may help you get there. There is after all almost an album's worth of those. In your honor, I'll spend morning listening to that album and sending you positive brainwaves to help you get into it more. Cause I might as well face it I'm addicted to m83 (Boom! Captain, Captain, I'll give you the news. You've got a bad case of not loving it. As you can see by the overwhelming chart bar in my profile, I do love it. I think it's the perfect mix of pop, shoegaze and ambient of his previous albums. I find some of the songs so incredibly uplifting while others are contagious and they put me in such a great mood!! It's difficult not to be addictive to that kind of feeling... while it lasts! PS: that first line was supposed to be a Robert Palmer pun but I'm not sure it was clear enough. (:/)
