Got my interest in electronic music before school was in.. loved the music of intellivision games and all things C64. Never considered Music and Computers to be only one thing, but always had an ear for electronic sounds within 80's music. I would have never thought that something as great as electro was emerging.

Grew up in the Montreal 514 BBS scene creating ASCII and ANSi art under the alias 'Black Dog', and writing Scream Tracker [STM/MOD] modules and playing tons of great games, and just loop watching demoscene stuff. But in the "early days" of consumers hearing music from computers, the days of Roland MT-32's, AdLib and GameBlasters, you'd just listen to music over a DOS prompt, it was an EVENT. You learn to love synthesis. Then they made Windows 3.1 and it all got boring again. Endless .WAV soundclips of Star Trek and Ace Ventura, out-of-the-box .MID files with no potential.. where to go, especially when your friends are listening to Slayer, Alice Cooper and Aerosmith (nothing wrong with that).

After the metamorphosis of the educational system, I've been churned out as a Design graduate with a BFA, and my conscience has strangely survived. It begins here, with with unfortunately endless possibilities that our existence provides, through system and structure, bound by my ultimate truth that this shall only be what I make it. You can swallow a pint of blood before you get sick.

Despite the past, I can't say I ever want to be as blunt as to restrict myself to listen to SID music, or thrash about to Machinae Supremacy. The happy medium is keeping me happy, and there's some stuff that I sometimes listen to and go.. d.. um... was this song made for me specifically? ARE YOU F$%KING HEARING THIS??
