i was a systematics fan and saw them play live a fair bit (including their re-incarnation as Ya Ya Choral). i just finished a paper myself on the crossover between post-punk and experimental scenes - m2, terse, little bands, chesworth and brophy, primitive calculators etc.. also traces the links to no wave (and the band 'Suicide' in particular)
