Really awesome taste. Kinda emo but still really awesome, which is saying something. ;)

Sorry, didn't see your last shout. You're right, before CBS took Last.fm over it was showing great promise as a music-oriented social networking site. Now it's just a data mine for the record companies (which I don't mind, as long as I get the former out of it). And like you, I scrobble faithfully, but I don't hardly do anything remotely "social" on it anymore. Boo -- another casuality of Big Music!

Hello from Austin! My name is Hunter. I see that you have an eclectic taste in music and thought you might enjoy The Wonderland Avenue http://www.last.fm/music/The+Wonderland+Avenue. Give them a listen when you have a moment or two! Have a rockin' day.

I'm amazed -- what you wrote in the "about me" section could actually be written by me! I agree 100%. Too many people worry about cool and uncool too much. I try to be open, but of course there is a limited amount of time, so I often listen to whatever I love at the moment. What I mean is that I would never rule out the potential of any musical style or artist that I haven't given a fair chance, if you understand what I'm getting at.

Its going good over here :) I'm trying to take a break from the new U2, but it will be short lived. I can't get enough of "Breathe" but pretty much every song is addicting. Might be my favorite since Achtung Baby.. but time will tell. Where are you from?

About Me

My musical choice more often than not is predicated upon what mood I am in. Thus sometimes there is a given artist that fits a particular mood and it may be "artificially" higher than it otherwise would be. My assumption is that over time, taken in the aggregate these spikes will level off giving a better representation of my listening habits.
I am very eclectic in terms of variety, but that does not mean to say that I like avant garde music for the sake of saying I like that. I find that attitude to be disconcerting and pretentious. Music should be valued on its own merits, not what label they are on, or how "cool" it is perceived. But, by the same token, if one does not expand beyond the typical drivel of music that is peddled to the masses, they will miss out on some fantastic artists.
