A Little Bit of Nellie

Yesterday I listened to Nellie McKays debut album for the first time in a very long time. It's still amazing.
I was somewhat disappointed by Pretty Little Head, though, a good album that i thought would grow more on me than it has, but it's missing something very vital. I'm not sure what that is yet, but I know Get Away From Me has it in spades and shovels.
And she's still cute as hell. What a smile on that pretty little head of hers!

Get Away from me is a little over produced. I have a couple of her hand made CDs from before she signed with Columbia, and a lot of the Get Away From Me songs are on them. I like her originals better than the Columbia versions. -

lacador: I don't agree about it being over produced, but then again, I don't think I tend to notice these things unless it's the really obvious, supercommercial, kindergarten pop kind of music (i.e. Britney Spears, whome I loath, or Kelly Clarkson, who I actually do like if the tune is right). Though I gotta say, I would love to hear the originals, because roughly produced stuff like that do tend to sound better. I'm probobly really a lo-fi guy at heart.
