"I'm over, personalities... conflicting - I don't need you or anyone, but me. I'll just be living my own life... I feel my glowing center grow, infecting... I feel alive" We are not fucking falling ever again!

For now, I've been listening to Soulfly (though I haven't scrobbled anything by them yet). I just bought all their albums and am giving them a listen because I remembered listening to one of their songs before (Defeat U) and I liked it. Well so far I like their newer album, Conquer, the best. Sepultura is still a bit better than Soulfly for the most part but Max Cavalera's gone back to his thrash roots with Dark Ages and Conquer and I'm diggin' that. Unlike Sep though Soulfly got a lot of melodic metal going on too and that's great as well. Just an observation though. Dunno if you like 'em, but hey people like what they want I don't blame them at all.

I see you've been listening to Duncan Sheik lately. He is fantastic! I could definitely see a Duncan-Paula duet.

About Me

"To me, records were no longer just about the songs anymore, but about the sound. Headphones opened up a world of sonic colors, a palette of nuances and details that went far beyond the chords and melody, the lyrics, or a particular singer's voice.... Headphones also made the music more personal for me; it was suddenly coming from inside my head, not out there in the world" - Daniel Levitin

Say What?! Musicians Hear Better

"I mystified the simple life
I covered up with consciousness
I saw myself and broke it down
Till nothing more was left
She saw the symptoms right away
And spoke to me in poetry
Sometimes the more you wonder why
The worse it seems to get" - Duncan Sheik

My eclectic score is currently

92/100

"If everybody loves your band right off the bat there is something wrong. You're not breaking the mold. You're just being easily digestible." - Nick Hexum

"...music is organized sound, but the organization has to involve some element of the unexpected or it is emotionally flat and robotic." - Daniel Levitin

"Another area of interest common to INTPs, where Sensing has a strong influence, is Music. INTPs are usually fascinated by music and may have deep and wide-ranging tastes. Indeed, each of their three main functions (Thinking, Intuition, Sensing) plays a role in the enjoyment of music, and indeed music is a key interest for bringing out the feeling shadow of the INTP. Sensing itself brings a fascination for mood and atmosphere in music as well as for a strong sense of personal nostalgia. INTPs are therefore often keen on melancolic minor-key music in which an introspective and/or esoteric mood is conveyed. Equally, INTPs enjoy hearing music that they heard and enjoyed when younger (provided they can still appreciate it now) and yearn for the sense of nostalgia that it yields. INTPs are also drawn to complexly structured music, thanks to their Thinking core. An appreciation of modern classical music, as well as perhaps contemporary jazz, is therefore common with them. Such music types are usually too complex to be understood after a single hearing, which hence provides excellent material for analysis, exciting the INTP no end. Once the basic developmental structure of the music has been assessed, Intuition provides the impetus to derive a general meaning of the piece. What does the composer wish to convey, for example? Why was that particular development chosen? Indeed, the Ne is usually hard at work during listening sessions, trying to grasp the meanings behind the often fascinating combinations of sound-world evocations, structural developments and nostalgic impressions." - Paul James
