Everyone says that, but I'm often sceptical of such assessments - a lot of albums which are ostensibly a band's "best" have taken me a lot of time to get into so I never really trust those generalisations... As for the Boosh, I do occasionally watch it, though it's far from my favourite show. The humour of it seems to be exaggerated by its hardcore fans whereas I personally chuckle slightly maybe once an episode. Not quite my cup of tea, especially since it got huge. I recommend a programme called Snuff Box which features the guy who plays Bob Fossil and the guy who plays Dixon Bainbridge - personally, I think it's vastly superior (and surreally ridiculous).

Not yet - while I do have all the Mountain Goats discography on my iPod, I've only actually listened to Tallahassee, The Sunset Tree, Get Lonely and Heretic Pride. I basically want to have a whole day of listening to their catalogue soon (as I'd need a whole day to get from start to end) but it's proving hard to organise.

You don't know who Guillemots are??! YOU ARE NO SON OF MINE. Basically, they are the first band I ever saw, ever. They were supporting Rufus Wainwright at my first show and I'd never heard of them. I sought out their stuff and made friends with them (they were just starting out) and have ridden the wave ever since - seeing them release pretty much everything they currently have out and seeing them live a total of 10 times (interviewing them twice, meeting them every time). They all "know" me (the lead, Fyfe, especially - he's from my hometown) and I have all of their releases. I think you would like them. In fact, I'm sending you an album via PM now. It's the more conventional one, though. The band are all from different places (Brazil, Canada, Scotland and Birmingham) and are immensely fun and cool. I haven't listened to them for ages, though - they're at top place so I don't "need" to... Hehehe.
