Also there's this album created by two of my favourite 70s/80s japanese experimental synth gods that I'll link if you're interested. No idea if it'd be your thing, but hey! Synths! Though this particulary album is from the year I was born, so it might be too modern for your standards (even with both musicians having cut their teeth in the 70s)

Btw, if you're not a 有頂天 fan you really should be. Their early stuff is really awkward (in a fantastic way) poppy new wave, and by the GAN album it's less awkward (though still dorky as fuck) and has more well incorporated post-punk influences. PLUS THE SINGER HAS BIG STICKY OUT EARS!
