There's a reason why they're the number 1 most listened artists on the internet. They are very internet friendly and encourage the piracy of their music. I also believe their albums are so well crafted that there is more talk about the musicality of the records other than hit singles. Since the exploitation of their former label of their music, radiohead fans have encouraged everyone to fight back with extreme forms of piracy. I also believe the musical direction of Radiohead to be one that many people can appreciate. Starting off as a normal 90's alternative rock band, heading the direction of dark electronic/ambient, and then slowly heading their way into the 'essence' or an experimental band. Radiohead has been my favorite band since my uncle gave me his collection of records he listened to in the 90's, that of which included their debut "Pablo Honey". If you judge artists by their popularity of an internet based fanbase, well then you're just as noncomformist as a hipster
