  • Recruiting - A Simple Plan...

    10 Feb 2008, 23:26

Okay - so I'm sitting here on Sunday and working through some emails and online promises made this week - it's all about follow-through, right?

And I manage to hear some tunes by Simple Plan. I grabbed When I'm Gone via iTunes and to be honest, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the album. I've managed to find the tracks and will be picking it up the first chance I get.

Now granted, I don't predict a rave review from RS on these guys - but I've liked these guys since they were Reset. (anyone remember that far back?!)

Anyhow... I thought it was sort of interesting that I was working on 2008 recruiting plans for our AT&T Cell Centers and Technician jobs and Simple Plan ran through my iTunes.

So back to my email ketchup, recruiting strategies, and Simple Plan.

  • On the road...

    RecruiterGuy here...

You know, it seems that I can never get enough music... especially when I'm on the road.
The last few weeks, however, I seem to be addicted to Zeppelin. Could it be because their debut album was released only a week ago in 1969? (Jan 12, right?) Of course, maybe it's just that I've still got them in my head from the final tour last month - that I would have loved to have gone to.

Either way - I'm a Zeppelin head for the time being. I've got a few on the iPod for this trip to El Paso... Houses of Holy, In Through the Out Door, and of course, the live album, The Song Remain the Same.

As to my guitar playing this week? I've stuck to the favorites... Joel, Clapton, and even some fun stuff from when I was just a lad. :-)

So far El Paso has been great. I've had a chance to meet with some neat people as we get geared up for the Sales Consultant hiring event we have this Saturday.
I love hiring events - it's always great to get to see people in person and talk to them one-on-one about our jobs.

Of course, don't forget that I have a soft spot for El Paso - the people here are hard working, the air is crisp in the morning, and the sunsets are awesome.

  • Recruiting to Music?

    15 Dec 2007, 22:23

RecruiterGuy here... Just getting some things done over the weekend that managed to get away from me during the week.

Is it just me or is it hard to concentrate during the holidays? Of course, it's one of the busiest holiday's I've ever had.

I am the Associate Director of Recruiting for AT&T's NonManagement staffing teams. My team is responsible for the talent acquisition of all external recruitment efforts tied to occupational titles at AT&T. And yeah... we're BUSY.

This week consisted of looking for people that have sales experience and would enjoy earning up to $30k to over $50k in base salaries plus commissions - in various markets. These jobs, AT&T Senior Consultants, AT&T Sales Representatives, and AT&T Sales Associates, all work in fast-paced call centers and have competitive benefit and compensation packages.
Hard to recruit? Nah - there are just so many in so many locations that it truly keeps our teams hustling.

The music I've been jamming to while posting ads, mining boards, and working with our teams on great strategies?
    As follows:
Amy Winehouse - while working through my budget numbers.
Collective Soul and Radiohead - while sourcing boards and putting Google to work for us.
Godsmack - while working with the team to iron out strategies.
Rascall Flatts - while Facebooking this week.

Coolest thing put on the web this week? Fun to watch, and yeah, my feet get to tapping... but I've no clue who the tunes are by. (catch this vid live at any of our job fairs - you know you wanna'. LOL)
