Well, as you can see, I really like Jérémie Kisling. I also like the sound of Keren Ann, Autour De Lucie, Mickey 3D and Manu Servé. You can find a lot of free music (a lot in French) at musiquelibre.fr or jamendo.com (I like Talking Cure especially. They sing in French, English, German and Spanish) If you like funny music, try Oldelaf & Monsieur D, Boby Lapoint (a lot of wordplay, very hard to understand if you don't have the lyrics, but you can learn a lot of French), blük blük (Swiss humour, and all free on their website!) Thierry Jullien, Didier Super, Parolix, Sophie Duverger, Bidochons (parodies of popular songs), Les Fatals Picards, Gérald Genty, MelonMan, Les Malpolis, Pat Bol, Chanson Plus Bifluorée, Topaloff, Toufo... many of these have some or all of their songs as free downloads, google for their websites.
