Well a quick Google search for "Squamish BC" would give you more info on the town that I can summarize. I guess what Squamish is most known for is the 2000' granite monolith called the Stawamus Chief. I was a rock climber for most of the 80's and so that was how I first got involved with Squamish. We are also on the waters of Howe Sound and with all the wind we get, we are also known for our wind surfing and kite boarding. And then of course we, along with Whistler which is just up the road, are known for our mountain biking and hiking trails. Squamish is about 1/2 between Vancouver and Whistler. Truly a beautiful mountain and ocean paradise with mountain biking, skiing, climbing, hiking, sailing, wind-surfing and other activities. :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squamish,_British_Columbia http://www.tourismsquamish.com/

Not bad, welcome from Squamish BC. I lived in Germany in 1970 for about a year. Used to read/write/speak fluently, but no longer. Have been wanting to try and track down my cousin who used to live in Raunheim - Reiner Springenberg. :) But I am not even certain of the spelling of his name.

About Me

When I am not contemplating my navel, conversing with ghostly apparitions or unavailable due to interplanetary travel, I am an aspiring writer and so I post and blog as practice, as a means through which I can improve my writing ability, hopefully with the constructive criticism, corrections, suggestions and advice from "real" writers. I also consider myself a philosophically, spiritually and technologically inclined man with diverse passions, interests and goals. I am constantly seeking that perfect opportunity to contribute my education, skills, interests and passions towards a worthwhile cause or group. I am also on a life-long quest for learning, personal development and finding ways to give back to the world and my community. I abhor mediocrity and strive for perfection and excellence in everything I do. I consider unconditional honesty to one’s self and others, without social expectation or self-interest, to be the highest principle, as well as the greatest example of integrity and character, that any person can possess. I am deeply introspective and endeavour to think critically about all choices or decisions where there are ethical implications for myself or others.

I am a compassionate, patient and respectful man. But I am also intolerant of, and outspoken on, issues of abuse, prejudice, hypocrisy, dishonesty, apathy or any form of negligent or unethical conduct, particularly by those in positions of power or authority. I am also indifferent to social expectations or externally-derived value-systems. I am also deeply principled to the point of appearing self-righteous and so I am often grossly misunderstood. I expect others to hold me to the same level of honesty, integrity and ethical conduct I demand from them. Occasionally, I am considered a tall, ruggedly handsome, fine specimen of a renaissance man. Other times, I am considered dumb as a bag of hammers. (Google+: http://www.gplus.to/johnnystork)
