I haven't heared any of his stuff since MSG. He does have one great honour though, being the first lead singer to headline Monsters of Rock in 1980 with a band.

Pretty much, until I can use it at work, it somewhat negates the point of having it. In the mean time, i'll try to get my ipod scrobbles on here. The other reason was i had to subscribe for the mobile app, now i have a damn big mp3 i dont see the point. Just have to put all my stuff on it now though

I knew it wasnt written by them, but wasnt certain if it was a cover. I know he has a powerful voice, but compare him to Dio or David Coverdale and he couldn't hold a candle. I am though, quite fond of his Rainbow and MSG album.

You say you like Status Quo. What album do you think is a good starting point? I remember I had some compilation of some 80s songs (it was actually my parents') when I was like 6 or 7 and I was listening to this a lot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtbuGIc2gDM I still like this song a lot. Although I know some people say this album is not very representative, it's supposed to be more pop oriented. Still a nice song, or maybe I;m just being sentimental.

I haven't heard his first MSG record, but Save Yourself is brilliant. I can understand the more melodic thing, but yes the opening title track is very good but it's Shadow of the Night that does it for me. Bonnet isnt the greatest singer in the world, but Assault Attack is brilliant, though i think his finest and most memorable is on Rainbow's Down To Earth which isn't there best work, but the Since You've Been Gone Riff is certainly memorable in the UK for example, and he headlined the first Monsters of Rock in Donnington.

Am listening to MacAuley Schenker's Save Yourself, and I noticed a comment where you found it too glam or something like that. I can understand what you mean, it is quite 80's compared to the Assault Attack record for example, though his guitar work is excellent.

sorry to hear that...I caught a little something back at Xmas when visiting family, although it didn't keep me from work when I got back, it was the 1st time for me in a number of years as well...as far as the game went, i didn't have a dog in the fight, but its an event and an excuse to drink beer and eat grilled meat, as if I needed an excuse! lol

About Me

I will not add anyone anymore, who does not talk me first. Drop me a line here, or in my inbox.

Furthermore, I will NOT add bands I do not know. When I will add you myself in time, it will be soon enough!

Just a place to draw attention to albums that deserve more listeners. Perhaps even for albums that are pretty much unknown. I will vary from time to time.

Lillian Axe - Ghost Of Winter
Of their 2nd album, still my favourite. This is the kind of song that they excell in: dramatic, epic and full of melody.
