Nadja is the slowest filtered guitar + laptop + bassist I've ever heard. Not for the schizophrenic. Idiot Flesh plays Rock In Opposition, which is to say hyper-frenetic yet sometimes sublime bass-driven avant-garde with a penchant for nonsensical lyrics and exotic textures. I doubt you would get into Idiot Flesh first listen or maybe even the third listen. Your tastes are pretty good though. They do you fine already.

So does your bio mean you don't like bands such as Venetian Snares, Nadja, or Idiot Flesh?

No worries Hoff, I'm glad you liked them :) I'm still going through the ones you sent me and aside from Killing Joke, it's all good stuff so far!

Well, I guess I'm aware of that, but was it really this much? :P Anyway I'm quite astonished that we are still members both of us and scrobbling regurarly after 3½ years. I think we should talk again soon, how is tonight? (Tomorrow morning that would be in your case I believe :P)

Hey! You didn't give up on music did ya? I'm near 15k plays ahead of you. Oh well, take that as the bad joke it is, your chart is way more accurate than mine is, Even though the vast majority is songs that I've listened to because I really wanted to hear it. I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that I run most of my songs in a shuffle playlist and pick the songs I like and you, from what I've understood, seem to make pretty much new playlists as you go in the manner you feel like. Have a nice time until we next talk anyway. :)

Lol, your "The few genres I *won't* give the time of day to:" could be applied to me as well word for word. Good taste!

About Me

I'd say I started my own music collection around the age of 10. I mostly listened to silly techno, dance music and 80s pop back then, and my taste in music slowly widened in scope as I accumulated more knowledge and as my tastes changed. Now I love something from pretty much every corner of the musical world. From classical music to metal and hard rock, from trip-hop and instrumental hip-hop to psychobilly and psytrance. It's a lot easier to list what I dislike than to list what I like.

The few genres I *won't* give the time of day to:
-Most country music
-Gangsta rap
-Mainstream contemporary hip hop and RnB (with few exceptions)
-Mainstream contemporary pop music (with no exceptions, that I can think of)
-Most death metal
-Most modern punk (or whatever they're calling it now)
-Anything that concentrates solely and unabashedly on sex
-Gore metal
-Anything so artsy and pretentious it's difficult to intepret it as musical, let alone enjoy it. Some forms of experimental electronic music, for example. Different doesn't necessarily mean better, and experimentation doesn't necessarily equal innovation.

I'm a 'listen to individual songs' kind of guy - I rarely listen to entire albums all the way through.

My overall top X charts are still mostly valid, but if you want a more accurate snapshot of what I've been listening to recently, try the top tracks of the last 6 months chart.
