finally someone not hating on my music tastes haha, well if you like stuff that scream, id say try Atreyu, or Avenged Sevenfold, if you like Growls, Try Between The Buried And Me or Sepultura, if you just like metal with out growling or screaming then go with Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, or Judas Priest

So, I was thinking, and I realized you may have been asking a completely different question than the answer I gave. So, just in case, I'll cover the other possibility: if you're looking to beef up your classical music collection, the best way to do that is libraries. I would imagine you are within a reasonable distance of any public library or at least a college with a decent library, and you can usually check out CDs for free from those. Here at UCLA, the music library lets us check out up to 10 CDs at a time for like a day or two, so all you have to do is rip 'em to your computer and you're in business. You can acquire a huge collection of stuff to listen to in only a few days - which reminds me, I should totally start getting more CDs from the library. Haha.

Classical music is a tough one, because there isn't really a decent filter system. All you really have is the canon to go by, but thankfully there's so much stuff IN the actual canon that you should be able to find good stuff you like once you start searching. If I were starting out, the best place to start is Beethoven - he's pretty much the Beatles of everything. Get some symphonies (3, 5, and 9 are the most popular, with 7, 8, and 2 also being pretty awesome personal favorites), some concertos, whatever. Like with most music, it's about figuring out what you like first and then working off of that. Each symphony is usually between 30 mins and and hour in length, so they are sort of like the "albums" of the day. After Beethoven, I'd check out Mozart, Brahms, Bach, Haydn, and just keep working out from there. It's a bit of a daunting task - I've been working on expanding my collection with good stuff as well. Recently bought Brahms complete collection of Symphonies - pretty stunning.

Hey, I really love your music taste. You should check out my top artists - I think you'd really like them too. Do you have any similar bands that you could recommend to me?

Postal Service. Ah Yes, Such Great Hights is a really great song. That's actually the only song I heard from thier's, but they do kinda sound alike. I think I'll checkout some more of thier stuff on youtube. Any sugestions?

What I like about Fireflies is that it has a pretty cool kinda new wave 80's vibe going on. I havn't heard the rest of his songs, but that one is pretty catchy.
