Transcendental Desecration is a bit rock, a bit weird, often experimental, intentionally psychedelic, mostly electronic, heavily influenced by classical music (mostly romantic and neoclassical periods) and early electronic pioneers. The music usually focuses on subtle and bombastic big beat rhythms all layered simultaneously with techno-styled rhythmic synths. Noise samples, found sounds and dialog samples from just about anywhere are often a key element in the music. TD is often satirical and humorous, though usually in a subtle way and regularly ventures into "spacey" excursions.

Transcendental Desecration was formed in 1991 as an experimental, improvisational-performance project that was extremely psychedelic in concept and flavor. Part electronic. Part rock. Part anything that made noise and rhythm. Founder Gideon (aka Grog The Parakeet Slayer, Lord Gwydyon) started the band as a side project to his primary bands at the time Of Godlike Passions and Tweak Fulling On. By about 1999, Gideon had completely cleaned the slate with TD and recruited his intellectual and musical soul-mate Maggy Mjolnir to be his new equal creative partner. Since 2000, the duo have produced almost 30 self-published live albums and several commercially released albums. Transcendental Desecration is their flagship project and like all their projects it is 100% independent.
