You have a happy mix of the unexpected in your music library. Like you, I was late to the Nick Drake party but am glad I finally made it. If you're still looking for different versions of "Famous Blue Raincoat," Jennifer Warnes, The Handsome Family, and Perla Batalla have worthy covers.

Folks, I am alive! My computer's motherboard fried around October-ish, and my laptop is almost a boat anchor. Sorry about the lack o' stuff, but I'm not dead yet!

If you're wondering who this dude is friend-requesting you, I used to be on your list a while back. I fell off the Last.fm wagon for a while, so to speak, but I'm back on and driving at full gallop now.

About Me

Having grown up on everything from Genesis to James Taylor to Rammstein, I love almost every kind of music; hence, my lists are rather crazy. But if I HAD to list genres, I'd say that I'm especially fond of symphonic metal, punk, musical theater, violindie and cello rock, folk/ethnic music, post-rock, Bollywood, and opera. Yes, I like opera. Stick it in your ear.

I really don't like it when people freak about the music tastes of others. Taste is personal, and I don't listen to something because it's "more metal" or "harder punk" or whatever, I just listen to it because I like it (or, in some cases, because I'm trying it out).

My favorite song ever is "Famous Blue Raincoat," regardless of who's singing it. Right now I have four versions of it: Tori Amos, The Like, Marissa Nadler, and Leonard Cohen. If anybody has any other versions, I'd really appreciate it if you'd hook me up with them. =D

I'd love to find more bands with great contralto singers, so hook me up with some recs if you know of any good ones!

If we were friends and I removed you from my list, it's because you haven't checked your account in 6 months or more and I assumed you were no longer using last.fm. Hit up my shoutbox if I made a boo-boo and you want back on my list.
